Former President Barack Obama accidentally crashed a family's photoshoot in Washington, D.C.
On Monday (March 31), mom Portia Moore said her family was taking pictures with the cherry blossoms on D.C.'s Tidal Basin when they spotted the presidential figure in the background of their shots.
“It was perfect,” Moore recalled.
The mom said she was initially focused on keeping her young kids, Belle and Preston Thomas, safe as they were taking their photos under a cherry tree near the water.
“Of course, I’m paying attention to my son, making sure he doesn’t run into the water. He’s 20 months old,” she said.
Moore's husband was the one to spot Obama wearing a baseball cap as he took a casual morning stroll along the Tidal Basin.
“My husband’s like, ‘That’s Obama!’ I didn’t know what he was saying. I was like, ‘Yeah, whatever. I’m looking at Preston right now,’” Moore explained.
As she picked up her son, Moore asked her husband to repeat what he had said.
“That’s Obama!” he replied.
“I was like, ‘Well, did we get a picture?!’ We went to the photographer, and she scrolled back and were like, ‘We got it!’” Moore said.
Shots taken by family photographer Briana Innell show Obama photobombing a heartwarming picture of Moore's two children.
“Usually, I’m editing all of the tourists out of the backgrounds for all my clients anyways, but this is the one photo that I won’t be editing out this person,” Innell said.
Moore shared the shots on Instagram, prompting the president to comment on his photobomb.
“Preston and Belle, I hope you enjoyed peak bloom! My bad for stepping into the shot," Obama wrote.
