A woman has filed an emergency protective order against four-time NBA All-Star Rajon Rondo after he allegedly threatened her with a gun in front of his kids, ESPN reports.

According to a protective order filed on Friday (May 13), a woman who reportedly shares kids with Rondo said she was scared for her and the children's lives following a heated exchange with the Cavaliers point guard.

While playing video games with one of his kids, Rondo went on an alleged rampage after the woman interrupted to ask the child to separate laundry. The woman claims Rondo ripped the video game console from the wall and broke other items in the house.

Rondo allegedly proceeded to yell "You're dead to me" at the woman while storming out of the house. According to the woman's account, he returned to the house with a gun and demanded to see his children.

With gun in hand, the NBA veteran yelled at two of his kids for being afraid of him, the woman said.

The woman then called former interim Louisville Metro Police Chief Yvette Gentry who came to the house to diffuse the situation. The woman said she locked herself and the kids inside of the home until Rondo left and Gentry had retrieved the gun from him.

The emergency protective order notes Rondo's alleged history of "volatile, erratic [and] explosive behavior." It was granted on Friday by a judge who ordered the two-time NBA champion stay at least 500 feet away from the woman and the children.

Rondo was also ordered to temporarily surrender his firearms to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.

NBA spokesman Mike Bass said in a statement that the league is aware of the situation and is "in the process of gathering more information."
